Inter-Carrier Networks

Definition

An InterCarrier connection is a telepresence bridge between one telepresence network and another telepresence network. Locations can actually dial another locations on the other network, equal to making a telephone call to another person. In the world of telephony network operators have signed agreements to allow to use each others networks to reach the person by means of a unique telephone number, including country code and identifier. In the world of telepresence not all carriers have agreements with each other to use each others network in order to be able to make the telepresence connection. In the future the E164 number will be used for the unique identifier of a specific location of a telepresence installation in the network.
